This is old news, I know, but some new news reaffirms it.

So the first batch of Mario Kart 8 DLC is out in about a month.  It features Link, Cat Peach, and Tanooki Mario as new characters, 4 new karts, and 8 new tracks as part of the Egg Cup and the Triforce Cup (names not confirmed, but we'll use them for conversation).

Now something's not right here.  As usual, the retro tracks are on the bottom and the original tracks are on top.  Then, why is the Triforce Cup on the bottom and the Egg Cup on the top?

Here are the tracks we know for the first DLC package:

New:

-F-Zero Track

-Zelda Track (we would expect this to go in the Triforce Cup, right?)

-Excitebike Track

Retro:

-Wario's Gold Mine

-Yoshi Circuit (we would expect this to go in the Egg Cup, right?)

So then, it would make perfect sense if the Triforce Cup contains all of the new tracks, and is on the top, while the Egg Cup contains all of the retro tracks, and is on the bottom.  We also see that in the second pack, the Animal Crossing Cup is properly in the top row, with the Super Bell Cup properly in the bottom row.  So is it a mistake?  Or do DLC packs not follow the rules?  Realize that we are likely going to have 4 new tracks and 4 retro tracks.

Edit:  I just found some new evidence!  Look at this image:

Here, the Triforce is properly on top!  So is the Animal Crossing Leaf!  I think it's certain at this point.
