I have been gaming since the early 80s and have had heart-to-heart talks with devs, publishers and PR firms about video games when I was a journalist. And I've had video game consoles before some of you were born. I can tell you - being scared was the main reason I bought the PS3. I wanted full BC on a fairly new PS3 when I was reviewing video games. Now, with me firmly in the world of corporate spin and not reviewing as many games, it's utterly useless to me. I have tried and tried to find a redeeming factor or quality about the machine. Sorry, but I just can't. What I find soooooooooo very laughable is how folks will try to utterly convince folks to buy a console, give it a chance and say 'It's the best gaming experience on the planet.' That's a complete lie.

BCNR34 - thanks for pointing out my poor money management. Are you my financial adviser now? Maybe you should have screamed out "Intervention!!!!!" when I made the PS3 purchase. When I need some financial wisdom, you, my PS3-blinded friend, are the last person I'd trust.

I see the PS3 for what it is. That's it. And just because me, Starcraft and a few others aren't so quick to praise and rave about the PS3's saving graces our posts are considered trolling. Thanks a million for the update. It's called an opinion. The OP said he boxed up his PS3. Sweet. I am gonna box mine soon instead of keeping it out and attracting dust. You should thank me for protecting my investment instead of letting it sit in my Man Space and looking clueless.

I have to run, but you religious PS3 backers kill me. I will admit, I admire your devotion to Sony's folly of a console.

I'll have to assume that by not mentioning me by name, you weren't calling me a 'PS3 Defender/Backer', cause if you were calling me that, you may want to read my post over again.  If you weren't, carry on.
