X/Y was released last October. Third gen remakes coming out this November (they originally released 12 years ago). It's consistent with the regular schedule, for instance Pokemon Platinum released in Sep 2008 and the second gen remakes released in Sep 2009.

No, I didn't. It's hard to keep track of all Pokemon games that gets released - there's like 5 or 6 each gen.
