Really? So if shareholders say enough is enough then it's OK? If they had limited money to throw away (they've thrown a lot on the Xbox so far) then their would be no rumblings behind the scenes of it's lack of performance. Do you think they will be happy with MS getting whipped this gen and potentially getting whipped next gen too? I doubt it but if say they've unlimited resources to lose without caring then sure you must be right!

This always makes me smile.

Both companies have shareholders that have opinions.

One company bas $100bn in cash, one doesnt.

One company has a stock that has risen over 30% in a year and pays large dividends

One company has a stock that is down over 12 months (in a rising market) and doesnt even pay a dividend now.

Which shareholders are happiest or likely to be more patient?

you're missing the point. Obviously over all MS shareholders will be happier. But if they have a division resulting in them receiving less of a dividend then they won't.

If MS never launched the Xbox they'd have more money. They could have invest those billions into something else. Now compare that to sony shareholders. They are over the moon with the PS4 because for a 3rd time out of 4 attempts it's stomping all over the competition.

My response to you smiling?
