GameCube numbers is not fine. Wii U just happens to sell even worse.

Gamecube's biggest games/exclusives were mostly released in 2001-2002 to help it sell. Xbox One does not even have its biggest IPs out yet on the console. Its selling fine. Do you honestly believe Xbox One will end up at Gamecube's numbers?
