Code Veronica HD. Can't decide if I should buy it?

I started playing it, and could never get used to the controls. I basically died all the time because I would get confused which side to turn to etc.

I think you cannot change them.

Played for about 30 minutes and never went back (this was a couple of years ago on X360).
