1) Ok. I'll admit that they deserve to be bashed for screwing over PC owners. I hate when developers hold a game back simply because another system / platform can't handle it. That is pretty dirty. As for the Bolded 1, Again, if you wanted to sell something and got a ton of good press claiming it as the next big thing, wouldn't you use it? Who in the right mind would say "Don't listen to the hype, our game isn't all that amazing"? I actually don't think it's being shady. Bungie / Activision probably did believe that they had a great game on their hands, the press helped fuel their idea of that, and they marketed it as such. Nothing at all wrong with that.

2) They do know what gets consumers excited and they have every right to use that to their advantage. Again, it's a business at the end of the day. It's up to the consumer to judge for themselves if it's worth their money or not. It's simply too hard to meet everyone's expectations, I'm sure they tried. They didn't say "Let's make a bad game and then pretend it's great so people will buy it". As for the 2nd bolded, nobody forces anyone to buy the game on day one or preorder.

Every Zelda gets hyped to the high heavens, Nintendo was bound to fail to meet the ridiculous expectations sometime. Plus, you know as well as I do that Nintendo / Miyamoto actually though that Skyward Sword was gaming gold

1) Of course no one would say, "don't listen to the hype" but its also their job to make sure that the hype doesn't get out of control if they want to put consumers first and money later... Nintendo does this very well with review embargos by giving reviewers up to a month to review the game and taking them out over 2 weeks prior to release... Games like Desinty on the other hand didn't... The review copies of Destiny went out like less than a week before the game launches... Not a month, not two weeks, but less than a week! That gave most reviewers less than 2 days to actually play the game before the release date! On top of that, Destiny developers told people not to trust day 1 reviews... That is pretty shady if you ask me... And if Bungie/Activision really believed that they had a great game, they wouldn't have done any of this

2) And sure they can use the advantage but they also deserve the backlash for doing so if their game is not up to par... Granted it is hard to meet everyone's expectations but just by judging at the amount of complaints from reviewers and consumers, its hard for me to believe they even tried... And sure, no one forces the consumers to pre-order but the companies give people insenstive to pre-order with tons of pre-order bonuses... If a game has a review embargo with staged pre-release content and the game is very hyped and it has a pre-order bonuses, then of course the consumer will pre-order it cause they think they will like the game at the end and getting free stuff on top of that is a great deal in the minds of many...

And I wouldn't doubt it but they should have heard/listened the complaints that people had with motion controls in general but they wanted to release at least one AAA game with full motion control support so it was kinda doomed to be a dissappointment from the very beginning anyway...
