Insomniac are my most beloved developers. My first proper console I owned was a PS2 which my mum bought me, it came bundled with the first ratchet and clank. We couldnt really afford any more games at that time, so I kept playing ratchet and clank over and over again. I was never good at it (I was like 4..or 8 or something) but it was a blast, and when I was able to, I eventually bought and played every ratchet and clank game released on PS2 (including deadlocked ergh..) and eventually ps3.

I want insomniac to succeed with this game, even if it's on a console I have no real desire to own currently. But it seems there isn't no real desire for this game outside of the extremely core market (the group of gamers who love to play all games and especially new ip's)

With about 18ish days left on the latest vcgchartz until release day, the pre orders are dismal...

Not where a xbox one exclusive - microsoft published and pristine developer developed game wants to be. And a significant one, I have to account it to a few things

  • The market for a game like SO is not there on the xbox one, currently.
  • Insomniac, though one of the best developers, have had a average track record in the past 2 years or so with their recent games
(Fuse, All4One, FFA, Into the nexus(very short game)
  • Could there be such as thing as too much marketing. Weekly Sunset TV's revealing a ton of info has potentially killed any chance for hype, and leaves very little left to be desired?
Let's assume this game doesn't do well, it'll be a streak of mediocre to bad-selling games recently.
Fuse - approx 182k
R&C nexus - approx 540k
R&C FFA - 190k (But most prob would've been digital)
The game may be able to sell a million. But is a million enough for microsoft to call it a success and recover their costs, as well as pay insomniac their bonus/due dilligence.
Im sad.
