Infamous used them effectively from 1 to 2. If you had the platinum you got a power core bonus (or that may have been for collecting blast shards) and if you had the good and evil ending ones you could get a head start start on those karmas. More devs should do stuff like that I think. Maybe give an avatar or something pretaining to the game if you get the platinum for it (for your PSN I mean).
