I haven't played much of Final Fantasy but it seems like the series has gone so far away from where it started that its barely even the same series anymore.
if u took someone from the 80s/90s that played the NES/SNES installments and showed them the recent games like FF13/FF15, they likely wouldn't even recognize it was the same series.
