Is Destiny the most over-hyped game of all time?

The developers clarified that that estimate was for the franchise, not the first game. We've no idea how much Destiny cost. 

As for your question, any question that end with "of all time?" is a wrong in my book. 

Actually, since the sequels of Destiny could have been in the game itself, it could have been for the game, before Activision split it into pieces.

Regardless of what could or could not have been in the game, the Destiny franchise has yet to actually incur 500 million in costs. People need to stop throwing that figure around because it makes it hard to view Destiny objectively. In that regard, yes, Destiny could be one of the most over-hyped games of all time...but it's not because it's a horrible game. The misinformations created hype levels and expectations for Destiny that were too unrealistic.
