and not everyone was eager to spend $200 on new hardware.

PSTV to the rescue!

I've just always seen quite a few Nintendo fans praising and spending hundreds of hours with Monster Hunter and always found it a little odd that it's quite a niche sub-genre which has been flourishing on Vita but no-one seems interested in trying it on there.  I'm always looking for more turn-based JRPG's!

But nah, I completely understand all of that.  I'd like a 3DS to play Tales of the Abyss, Bravely Default and a couple of other bits and pieces but I just haven't had the time/money up until now (and with Nu3DS on the horizon, it's all the more reason for me to wait).

Sadly I think that's just the result of the Vita's small install base, especially in the West.

I hadn't given much thought to the PSTV, but now that you bring it up, it IS an enticing offer. The PS3 is also a very appealing console to me, and it doesn't cost much more than the PSTV. I could be looking at my first ever Sony console in the near future. Probably not within the next year, but perhaps not long after that. If PSNow was a little more along the lines of what I want it to be, I probably wouldn't even have to think about this. Hopefully it will be more a more compelling deal by the time I'm ready.
