Viva Pinata got one sequel and then the franchise ended. Kameo never got a sequel. Perfect Dark Zero was the last game in the series. No idea about the Banjo HD games since those were digital but keep in mind that its been 5 years since they released and Microsoft still hasn't done anything with the franchise. Kinect Sports and Killer Instinct all did well yes. The fact that most of these franchises are currently dead should be proof enough that the games didn't perform to Microsoft's expectations. |
Thats a weird way of looking at things. Would you consider Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, Star Wars the Old Republic, or even the last PGR as failures? I mean no offense to you but sequels do not determine if a game is successful or not. However even though the games i mentioned were a success they werent run away hits that went on to sell multi-millions. And one thing you will notice with Rare especially is that they make a lot of new IP rather than only sticking with one franchise. Its not surprising that they continue to work on other franchises adn then KS was a run away hit so its also no surprise that they made a sequel to that.
I think you are trying to mix in successful with blockbuster hits that sells millions and millions. But if that would be the only thing that determines success then the industry would be dead.
