Thats not what I meant, so let me clarify:

In FFV you chose a class and learned skills and abilities in accordance with that class.

In FFIX you learned skills from armour, headwear, footwear & accessories indivually. Even from those with trivial names like "leather belt" and you get something like a status attribute "body temperature".

In my world the later makes no sense. Whatsoever. It can be considered a detail by some.

But when my game starts to lose sense I completely jump out of it. Heck there wasnt even a decent explaination to WHY you would learn skills this way in FFIX.
