Here is my list. As a small disclaimer I am Canadian, but I have set foot in 25 of the states in the USA. I also strongly disagree with anyone who would a slave owner on their list of the greatest presidents of the United States. I did my best to find 10 president who I can tolerate.
1. Lincoln (Ended Slavery and opposed Mexican American War while in congress)
2. Eisenhower (Interstate and opposed American involvement in Vietnam)
3. Van Buren (did opposed slavery and peacefully ended the Aroostook War)
4. Clinton (NAFTA and formed political relations with Communist Vietnam)
5. Buchanan (did his best to avoid war, given the southern aggression)
6, Harding (child welfare and anti-lynching laws)
7. Johnson, L. (civil rights and tried to prevent escalation of the Vietnam war)
8. Obama (Health care reform)
9. Truman (prevented McArthur from escalating the Korean War)
10. Carter (criticism of Bush for Iraq war and Obama for over use of drone strikes)
As a side note Washington would be near the top of my worst presidents list because not only did he contribute to the escalation of an unnecessary war, but he also felt it was acceptable for his wife to own her half sister as a slave. Though I think Polk easily gets the number one spot on the worst president list.
