To be honest, though, Rare was overhyped even during their "glory days" on the SNES and N64.

Donkey Kong Country. Goldeneye. Killer Instinct. Banjo Kazooie. Conker's Bad Fur Day. Perfect Dark.
Though some of these games are dated by today's standards, they were breakthrough titles for their time.
Rare accomplished an impressive bredth of variety and high quality that really has only been equalled by the likes of Naughty Dog.
They were glorious days indeed.

Rare was way better than naughty dog..... Look what you wrote yourself..... DKC/Goldeneye, Perfect dark, jetforce Gimini,Blast force, Killer instinct, Banjo Kazooi/tooie/Diddy kong Racing/Conker... that same generation Naughty dog made Crash1, Crash 2, Crash 3 and Crash team racing...

I do believe Rare > Naughty Dog, especially if we're comparing the same timelines.

Yes, but RARE pretty much died the day MS bought them...
So right now, unless you think the logo is the core of the studio, ND is one of the top studios in the industry (I'd say many Sony owned studios are)... ND did not stop after the Crash games, it's not their fault that RARE was forced to make kinect games and avatar for the 360...
If batteltoads were broughtback it would be like Killer Instinct, MS would call another studio and ask them, RARE would have nothingto do with this release.
