If you have a PC from the last 5 years or so with an i3, i5, Phenom II, or something like that in it, maybe spend a couple hundred on a midrange GPU? A gaming PC makes a fantastic companion to consoles. You can grab a cheap 360 USB controller and have a blast with it. A good number of Xbox games show up on PC anyway like Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, etc. It's a better value for now imho, and with the way these gen8 consoles are built, you'll see them at much lower prices and probably redesigns anywhere between holiday 2015 to 2016.
That's my take. Not a 'master gaming race' lunatic, but rather someone who sees the value in spreading it around. oh, and if you have a library of Wii and possibly Gamecube discs, playing them on the PC using Dolphin is pretty awesome.
