Well Microsoft might suck at developing games but maybe they could hire a team that is good at action adventure/beat em up to resurfance the title. I mean they got two third party developers to work on Killer Instinct. Microsoft has proven first party doesn't really need to be worried about as long as you own the IP.

Even Rare themselves have developed good games in the last 5 years, even if they are not games the market particularly wants. They may not be fantastic or like in the Nintendo years, but in Viva Pinata, Nuts and Bolts, Perfect Dark Z and Kameo they have made a wide set of very solid titles.

It simply isn't true to say that either Microsoft, or even Rare particularly, sucks at developing games. All those games I just mentioned have scored as well or better than the most recent entries from Sony's first party (though not Nintendo's). Does Sony have better games than its recent ones? Sure. But so does Microsoft.
