Good article, though I look at the games Nintendo makes to be open and instead of focusing on the controversy GTA, God of War, and anything with blood/sex/violence which gets sales cause of the controversy and image, they focus on quality and fun, the thing is the people that buy the violent and sexual games are mostly kids, working at a game store I know this to be true cause parents buy GTA for their kids all the time or kids come to trade in their GTA games.

To tell the truth most violent games are for immature people, mostly kids, so I hate when people call Nintendo a kiddie console, they just have kid friendly games that really are for "mature" audiences cause anyone with maturity shouldn't care to see digital boobs or blood just want something GOOD.

A game shouldn't focus on the violence or language and only use it if its tactful, example is the Resident Evil series, it feels like a good horror movie everything is tasteful and has some class while still being brutal and fun, example of being over the top and just stupid, God of War, WHY do we need women with their boobs popping out? where did that even come from? why all the senseless violence and rapid button pressing? It all seems a bit forced and focused on sex and violence without a good game included, so who is this marketed to? Kids of course =)

Blood/sex/violence and fun are not mutually exclusive.  The God of War games got great sales because they were excellent games.  The violence in God of War is completely appropriate to the character and mythology.  While I'd say the sex minigames and the like were unnecessary, they still fit who Kratos was.  There have been plenty of excessively violent games that bomb in sales, because they weren't fun.
