it depends how long time will ps4 last.
And also new3DS.
with n3ds, 3DS will live more than most thougth. but the trend is to diminish due smarts and tablets.
in other hand, xbox one failure to compete with ps4 will force MS to bring its sucessor earlier than for example 7th gen. So, sony maybe can bring ps5 earlier than ps4 could live, to compete with new xbox. but it would still sell rather well (but of course less) even after ps5 launch.
so, it will pass, but wil take more time. 2020?
