I loved Skyrim, just felt that there was always something to do and somewhere to go. Its hard to describe why but Beth Soft games just have a level of unmatched immersion in my opinion.
Although I enjoyed Witcher 2 which I felt had a deeper plot and characters and was in general more intelligent, I still would not rate the my overall experience with the game to be better the Skyrim. I guess in open world games quantity>quality. And this does not mean Skyrim's content was shabby, it actually was pretty good.
I guess Witcher 3 and Skyrim are different kinds of games offering different kinds of experiences...
