It's a budget games console (they'll never get the PS3 manufacturing costs low enough to be able to hit the low price this can be made for) and media device (they're doing an app to allow media streaming to Vita from PCs). Judging from the content they've acquired for Vita such as Disney Infinite 2.0 and Muppets etc, looks like they're also going to be marketing it out as a system for younger gamers.
It has a pretty huge library of software too, great for non Vita owners who want to play some of the system's exclusives and PSN releases.
It's certainly got potential if marketed right. Though we all know it won't be marketed right. So it's doomed to be about as niche as the Vita has ended up. Though anything that secures a few more Vita releases is alright in my book.
