I personally wanted devs to delay launches on the PS3, in order to release a better product.  Things like PS3 Skyrim, should never have happened.  But, I'm also a PC Primary gamer, so delays are something I've gotten used to over the years.

As I said before, though, I think the biggest issue here is the devs actually stating this stuff out loud.  Since it's been done on at least a couple occasions at this point, it adds quotable validity to the conspiracy theories.  Whether the theories are true or not, is irrelevant.  That they've said it, provides people with enough proof.

This gen, I'm just curious why they wouldn't make their engine scale.  Given the architecture is so similar, you'd think an engine that scales between the PS4/XB1 would make sense, and in so doing would allow the PS4 version to excel where it's strengths are and the XB1 version to excel where it's strengths are.  Of course, that's how I thought last gen, so you'd think I would've given up on this curiosity by now hah.

A engine could scale very well GPU wise where the true difference remains.

Everything else is almost identical. If dev run in a CPU bottleneck (as it seems with Ubisoft Anvil engine), or memory size and bandwide, they have to compromise in resolution.

They can´t delay the game ad infinitum. They have to ship in what is possible at their time scadule.

And maybe patche it later.

Oh I know, that was simply my take last gen.  It doesn't work for a number of reasons (Sony's image would've been hurt further, sales would've been horribly skewed etc...), but I would've been ok with them doing it.  I prefer their vision, not what happens when they're rushed.
