How about all the ghost cities and unfinished projects over there?

The Chinese population is still climbing about 10 million each year and it's just halfway through its rural exodus. Not to mention the rapidly increasing incomes of their middle-class and management under a strong government keeping urban planning under control. China can in theory get away for decades with stuff that would kill developed economies in weeks. 

OT - Surpassing the US is impressive, yes, but it will be even more impressive in 2030 when they just about double the size of the American economy. Not that is what I would call an economic juggernaut!
