For starters that CoD guy was talking shit, if standard marketing is brainswashing then all ads for all enetertainment ever are brainwashing. The guy was talking out his arse. And their approach with CoD is so ineffective that only 15% of gamers get brainwashed, which is pretty bloody useless as brainwashing goes.
As to Destiny, I couldn't really say. I'm a story person, so while I thought the ideas in Destiny seemed interesting I got no sense of story so I never became really interested, So I've never played a single minute of the game. I know I can get a bit addicted to collecting stuff, I almost got hooked on Pokemon except it requires you to buy your own game because there's no possibility for multiple game saves. But I dunno about becoming addicted to finding loot.
