What a pity some of you folks are going to miss an incredible experience just because you listen to reviews.

I have to say, the opinions I have heard from consumers who have played DC vs. the game journalists are very polarizing. The game will soon be getting weather, photomode, and additional cars/tracks, so I'm more curious to see people's opinions after that. I kinda see Driveclub as the arcade racer version of Destiny in a sense that the game gets better overtime beyond its launch.

So, you're saying it's sensible to wait until the game goes on sale (or buy a used copy) sometime next year when they finally finish developing it?

Can this $60 incomplete version be considered some sort of an Early Access?

If that's true, 72 is a great score for half the game...

The incomplete version is still really good, in my opinion. The additional content will be offered for free, so there's no need to buy the game second-hand to offset the DLC cost (or lack thereof). Also, there have been conflicting opinions within sites such as this from "Digital Foundry vs. Driveclub" in Eurogamer: "It's fair to say that we had more fun with the game than Mike did in the Eurogamer review, the combination of the arcade-style handling and the often beautiful visuals delivers an experience well worth checking out."

The most important part of the analysis is that David Bierton correctly acknowledged Driveclub as an "evolution of an old school arcade racing game, as opposed to the state-of-the-art simulation." This is something that many reviewers failed to acknowledge and as a result, jugdged a game as something it was never intended to be.
