Pretty bad news tbh.
Engine switches usually happen when:
you are too far behind in release schedule for the game that when it would eventually be released, it would be outdated compared to the competition.
It is a time consuming endeavor too, since you don't progress in the development by converting existing assets and finding new bugs in the new engine.
Though, the switch probably happened because of a reason.. that is, their own old engine probably had issues of it's own.
