Blue = European Union, not Europe. The first is a social-economic group, the second is a continent. Using your logic Switzerland wouldn't be part of Europe, neither Ukraine.
Russia is both in Europe and Asia. While most of its territory is on Asia, most of its population is on Europe.

Of course, VGC can track Russia as ROW, probably because it's not easy to separate what was sold in each part of Russia, but that doesn't change the fact that Russia is on Europe (and on Asia too).
