Kingdom Hearts III is now being built on Unreal Engine 4, director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed.

Nomura shared the news regarding a switch of engines while speaking with Famitsu. In a recent interview with the magazine, he stated that the change came about due to “various reasons”. Because of the engine switch, the team is experiencing some issues with rendering, though Epic Games has been working closely with the team to sort out any problems.

As for the actual game itself? Nomura mentioned that development is proceeding as planned.
