HBM has been effectively completed for a while now but there are many, many circumstances which may preclude its inclusion within the Pirate Islands designs.

As per the rest, slashing prices is the only idea and move there is. Simple as that, they have nothing else to offer other than a lower price point across the board to fight the much better Maxwell designs at the moment. They can't magically shit out a new generation of cards before they are ready.

Just because they co-developed the standard doesn't mean that it will get implemented as soon as possible for a new product. DDR4 has been standardized ages ago by JEDEC and only gotten implemented recently.
