There is no rumor on AMD co-developing the HBM standard. They are doing it. The only rumor, and one I already was taking into account when I said if they release and price right (as in even HAVE HBM in Pirate Islands), they will have a year+ head start. I am not taking rumors as reality, don't confuse me for a fool, I am speaking on the possibilities that are available if AMD plays their cards right on this news.
HBM has been effectively completed for a while now but there are many, many circumstances which may preclude its inclusion within the Pirate Islands designs.
As per the rest, slashing prices is the only idea and move there is. Simple as that, they have nothing else to offer other than a lower price point across the board to fight the much better Maxwell designs at the moment. They can't magically shit out a new generation of cards before they are ready.
