"We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff," Sure sounds like gimping to me. This is like that time in school when the teacher punished the whole class because of one kid acting out. It's not exactly fair to everyone. If Ubisoft was just lazy then I wouldn't care. I don't expect much from them anyways. But that quote reads like they forced parity just to avoid internet drama. |
Not to say that holding back the PS4 version would be right, but assuming they wanted to "hold it back" is the funny part. What if they just got the game to 900p and called it quits? Maybe they didn't see the financial benefit of making the game better on the PS4 just to say they did it. If the gamplay isn't going to change, but there will be a minor graphics increase, is it worth the extra expenditure? To a PS4 fanboy it would be. To a developer trying to make a buck it wouldn't matter.
What gamers need to accept is that a game is only what it is. If it doesn't get to some mythical standard of the gamer, then the gamer shouldn't set themselves up for dissapointment. The developer is releasing their game the way they want. You have made it clear in many posts that they were trying to screw you out of something by not doing more development. I guess I feel the same way for Uncharted 1, they should have never stopped working on it until it was as good looking as Uncharted 3. When does a developer stop? When every possible system has been maxed out? THat isn't always feasible.
If you need to put on the tinfoil hat and think there is a master conspiracy against the PS4 gamers, go ahead. Millions of people will enjoy the game as it has been released and won't worry about what could have been(that's what sequels are for!).
It is near the end of the end....
