You stopped playing Xenoblade though. Soriku (who has played a lot of RPGs) and bigtakilla both played through both games and disagreed with that position, stating certain gameplay features that made Xenoblade superior to FFXII in some way.

Who should I believe more?

Well to be fair if Xenoblades battle system hadn't been so poor I wouldn't have stopped playing it...

I found it more enjoyable than the XIII, Tales Of, Kingdom Hearts . The focus on stategy in this particular type of battle system is insane. I've spoken of it before with the premonitions and tri attacks, but also through the use of skills and ether that would compliment other teammates skills and ether. It becomes sort of a game of chess if you will, and unlike XII, you control the pieces. With Xenoblade X, it looks like that on crack with teammates that will tell you what to use so they can use complimentary attacks, targeting areas of the body as well as on the fly switching between ranged and melee weapons, and mech or ground battles. Mechs are obviously more powerful, but at a cost of using fuel and taking damage.
