Right, because we all know that the majority of SDK refinement is restricted to the first year.

Look at the PS3/360's first year, and compare it with last year. Look at the PS2 or original Xbox's first year, and compare it to 5 or 6 years into it's life. Your logic doesn't stand up to the test of time. Another example, look at the amount of time it took devs to start utilizing all 4 cores of a CPU, on PC. Years. It takes time for devs to find ways to utilize it all, and to utilize it all in the cleanest, most effective way possible. That certainly doesn't occur w/in the 1st year.
