I posted this in another thread on a similar topic, but it works here, too. And it's from a guy I don't usually agree with.
Others love to point to things other religions did 100s/1000s of years ago to say that all religions are the same, but that is BS. With the Idustrial Revolution and various Civil Rights movements, other religions allowed themselves to evolve in their thinking. There is no death penalties for going against the teachings of the church, there still is in Islam in the ME. Homosexuality may still be frowned upon, by there is no death penality or physical punishment for those who are gay. There still is in the ME. Women were usually cherished in other religions, even if they didn't have the exact same rights. Now, they do have those rights, but not so in the ME. A cartoonist can mock Jesus or Buddha, and the worst he faces is some angry letters/Tweets. He mocks Muhammad and he can very serioulsy face death. It's the reason Comedy Network FORCED South Park to edit out a scene that showed Muhammad, yet have NEVER had to censor anything else dealing with other people's religions.
So, for others to label Islam the religion of peace is really ridiculous. Even the word means submission. Of course, some do move to other countries and become modernized, which should be commended. Others, however, wish to bring Sharia law to those western countries, which I find pretty sad. Worse, yet, people wish to force others to be PC, and to even criticize Islam is deemed racist. We even arrested a man for making an anti-Islam video tape. Something that would NEVER happen if that video was about Christianity, Hinduism, etc.
