The XB1 is having to cut features in order to get within reach of the PS4 and we're only on 1st generation games. That is not a good sign for 2nd and 3rd generation games.

The problem is even without these features it are not catching PS4 except the parity cases.

Developers have got a choice: Either they don't improve that much graphically throughout this generation and fall further and further behind Sony, or they bite the bullet and push both consoles towards their technical limits. The bigger the gap gets, the more likely it will be scenario two.
