Final Fantasy 6 wasn't THAT revolutionary yet it is considered by many as the best JRPG of all time. So the first Xenoblade Chronicles game taking elements from FF12, heavily improving and tweaking them, doesn't necessarily make it a bad game at all. The evolution of, the not-much-liked, FF12 system might be something that everybody will like! We can never really tell.. I think most gamers who played FF4 and 6 agree that 4 destroys 6 when it comes to innovating and bringing new ideas. But those same gamers consider 6 the better game overall. I for one do! |
Oh by all means I'm not saying originality is the most important but an action RPG is simply better than a pseudo action RPG in terms of combat. I'm fine with improvements and all but a lot of FF fans are turned off by a lot of FF XII's MMO aspects which could be attributed to have been done poorly but JRPGs can usually stand on their own without them ...
