I hear where you're coming from, but I wasn't really talking about endings. It's about how things unfold in the story (as you play, hence: "what happens next"). Of course the main plot won't change much (it doesn't in Heavy Rain either - the killer is always the same, etc..., despite twenty-two conclusions). However, The Walking Dead does make you care for characters in ways few games mimmick, which plays a direct role on the story, and that is why it is so successful. |
It does have a nice story but the decision making was way more significant in Heavy Rain. Yeah the killer is always the same but you could have so many different endings and completely different scenes in Heavy Rain. TWD you go through the same convos and the people may be around for a few extra minutes depending what you do. Can't save Carli or keep Lilly or have someone other than Kenny go and I think it's because of the success that they knew it would go more than one season so they can't have the story be significantly different.
