If he hasn't  bought a WiiU by now clearly no game in that console insterests him. That means  Bayonetta 2 would cost him nearly $400 and come on now , no  game is  worth that much no matter how great it is.

Liking a game and being a fan of it doesn't mean paying inane amounts of money for it. If that were the case then no game would be sold at $60.  There's more to life than "loyalty" to a product.

If he doesn't buy the system then he kind of forfeits his grounds to complain, as he's the one depriving himself of the chance to play it.

He'd have to spend over 600% more just  to play that one game, I'd say that's a legitimate reason to complain. 

Based on your logic I  shouldn't  complain that I don't drive a Ferrari becaue I'm depriving myself the chance to drive one, nevermind that I can't afford one without going bunkrupt.  

OK, then still have a chance he will miss Bayonetta 3 then
