Shadow Dragon is a good game. But it's nothing really special. It does have a good score, some memorable quotes (especially Caeda's famous Fire Emblem quote), some memorable characters (Marth, Lady Caeda, Tiki, the "Whitewings" Palla, Catria, Est and their Master Minerva, Ogma, Merrick, Nyra and especially Camus). But the story and the gameplay are really basic. Think of it as the vanilla Super Mario Bros of fire emblem games. Plus Marth is considered by many to be the 2nd weakest Lord of them all. If I were to choose a great fire emblem to get into the series, Id be Fire Emblem GBA (aka The Blazing Sword). It was the first one released in NA and has many memorable characters (too many to name), and one of the best stories in Video Game history. Sacred Stones should be played right after this, but don't expect it to be better than Blazing Sword (its actually shorter and the characters and villains arent as memorable), still a solid game with a great story. Then Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn in that order (since RD is the Sequel to PoR). Radiant Dawn is a huge hit or miss. FE fans either think its the worst game in the series or one of the best games of all time( Rd is my fave). Even the ones who hate RD dont say its a bad game though. |
