Maybe under settings they will have the option on how streamlined the OS will be on devices i.e desktop, tablet, phone?  Giving the option to see as little or as much on devices from tablets, and laptops, and desktops. I would expect keeping windows phone as the default non optionable OS as it would only benefit from touch response.

I say this because some of the desktop features might be nice to use on tablets running full windows or touchscreen laptops
