People love Link, but they love a Zelda game, more! :D

We can`t really compare GC and Wii. Had Wii been just another console with better graphics, the most likely scenario would be that it would indeed impact Wii.

I`m not sure that delaying Zelda, even for a few months won`t hurt the games sales or even Wii U.
It wouldn`t be the first time that a Zelda game got released after the holiday period, but wouldn`t it be bought by more people during Christmas or TG - as a present?
For some reason, companies put a lot of games close to the holiday season, and when a lot of companies see a lot of growth.

To be honest if they want to maximize Zelda U's sales, moving it to 2016 as part of a broader 30th Anniversary thing and making it a dual release (Wii U + Fusion launch title) would probably be the smartest move.

Moving Twilgiht Princess away from just the GameCube to being a Wii launch title probably doubled the sales that game would've got otherwise.

And while it seems a little silly quite a few Nintendo fans were pissed off at the time that Nintendo did it, but it turned out to be 100% the correct call.

TP was the right call because the release actually coincided with Wii`s release. The same almost happened with DQ X, if i`m not mistaken.
In that situation it made perfect sense to port the game. If they didn`t, with all the Wii hype people would forget about the Zelda.

Honestly, i have no idea if people liked the idea or not. I didn`t mind. One way or another, i was going to play it! :D

The problem with this one is if they delay the game what else do they have for holidays 2015?
With MS and Sony coming with big titles, Nintendo can`t afford to be overlooked. They are making a profit now, but they need to make a whole lot more to tell investors that Wii U, in the end, made them money. If they just call it quits and whatever happens, happens, they are not only harming Wii U's small potential, they are also hurting the generation after Wii U.
What gamer will be confident on Nintendo`s word if they don`t really try their hardest to make Wii U a worthwhile purchase?

If they can replace Zelda for Holidays 2015 and the next gen really starts in 2016, by all means. I`d rather play the game in 2015, but i`ll still play it in 2016.
