Sorry MikeB, total fail.

1920x1080 is 1080p. 1280x1080 is NOT. Stop dancing around the fucking subject and just admit it.

704x480, 640x480 and 720x480. All 480p standards.

1080i can be a resolution of 1920×1080, but the HDV standard 1440×1080 pixels is also 1080i. Just read some HDV articles (both 720p and 1080i is supported) before upsetting yourself any further.

It's all so simple...

Yeah, okay.

Again, 1080p is 1920x1080. GT5p does not run at that resolution. Just fucking admit this and we can both move on. Why are you bringing up 480p and 1080i? They are different fucking resolutions that have nothing to do with this conversation.

1080p means 1080 lines progressively scanned. It's like 480p and 1080i, the term does not strictly define horizontal resolution. I know Microsoft made a big deal about 1080p in the past claiming you can't have a well performing game in such a resolution on neither 360 or PS3.

Sony hailed FullHD (1980x1080) for movies and stated the PS3 supported games in "up to 1080p".

The original confirmation:

"The PlayStation 3 will include BluRay , the high definition DVD technology, and support games in resolutions of up to 1080p, (the highest supported standard on the market.)"

Really what's there to be upset about? Sure I can understand you being upset about the wrong Microsoft statement, but why be upset Gran Turismo 5 Prologue runs in a much higher resolution than any race game runs on the 360?

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
