Can someone enlighten me what is exactly so great about streaming games? Maybe I'm missing something, the way I see it streaming has a ton of problems, and advantages which are not even that good:

1) Device necessary to play 1080p/60 FPS videostream is not exactly a 20$ toaster, by the nature of decoding it's GPU optimized task, and if you have decent GPU, why just not run games locally on it?

2) It's still 1 GPU per 1 client situation more or less. With some office suite while it is night in US you can lend it to users in China, but with games you can't have server more than few dozens miles away from user. Ideal situation for streaming is when server is behind the wall from user but user still can't access it, which is pretty stupid.

3) Nowadays publishers botch up online-only game launches with game clients still running locally. It's only like few hundred MB of traffic per hour from server and yet it still wrecks like SimCity, Battlefield 4 and Diablo 3 launches, what will happen when they'll have to upload hundreds of gigabytes instead?

Basically streaming is great for a very narrow gap when a device on user's end is too weak to play games but is ok to play HD video. Meanwhile, upcoming Intel CPUs come "free" with integrated GPUs which are better than X360/PS 3. A8 GPU on new iphones is 170 GFlops while X360 is 240. I wonder what the point of streaming when every device on market will be able to play Skyrim in 5 years. And if there was a demand for big games on mobile device in the first place Vita would be selling like cakes now.
