I am sure there is a very small amount that do, but it's not comparable at all to that mentality in Japan.

Nettles: I doubt it, a product being foreign hasn't stopped the US from making it a bestseller before.

Nettles and LudicrousSpeed: As someone who used to live in Japan, and can see the current sales of Apple and Samsung compared to their domestic cell phones, I can say that this mentality doesn't really exist at all*.

*Except for fresh food products, but I think that goes for any country - it's certainly prevalent in food marketing everywhere.
