Microsoft is already heading down back towards the Original Xbox where it's sales were very small. More people are picking up PS4's, & the gap between the sales of Xbox One & PS4 are getting bigger & bigger.

They really aren't. By the end of the year Xbox will be approaching 8-10m. Its really not comparable to the original Xbox and in 2015 it should be up YOY outside of January.

Microsoft can easily manage a worldwide baseline of 80-100k next year and the majority of that will come from north america. PS4 sales are irrelevant to Xbox's individual profitability, so it doesn't matter if the gap is increasing.

Unless you're one of those people who think that next gen only 3rd party titles will have little to no effect on Xbox's future, I don't see how you're in dissagreement with me. Its a very safe prediction that XBox will be up next year because of WItch 3, Evolve and Battlefield 4, Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Devision, Star Wars etc. Not to mention the momentum its bound to have after holiday boosts like Halo MC collection, COD 1TB bundle, all the 3rd party titles like Dragon Age and the lessor exclusives like Spark and Sunset Overdrive. 

I could be proven wrong but I'd be surprised if it didn't manage at least 8m by years end, 400k in October and then another 2m between November and December. And of course doing most of the work would be North America which still carries the Xbox brand which is the only reason the System hasn't sold like complete trash(refer back to my original statement). 5.4m before its very 1st post launch holiday is not trash and more then what the 360 managed.
