You don't think the U.S. is in a position to tell other countries to stop killing and jailing homosexuals because some states don't legally recognize gay marrige? (It's extralegal, not illegal nor "banned".) Should we also not encourage other countries to stop cutting off the hands of thieves because we put thieves in prison, too? Are we hypocrites for thinking girls should be able to go to school when we have a (largely mythical) 23 cent/hour wage cap ourselves?

That sounds like a serious lack of perspective on your part.

See also some of my later posts where I went into more detail, and try not to sensationalize my statements so much. I don't recall using the word hypocritical, nor saying we should be silent.
