I agree and disagree. Intolerance, victimisation and bigotry should be criticised and acted against whenever and wherever it raises its ugly head. The big problems should be prioritised, and people need a sense of perspective, but that doesn't mean giving the little problems a free pass.
Using faggot as a pejorative is not OK, and just because there is female genital mutilation practiced in parts of the Muslim world does not mean we should be dismissive of legitimate criticism when a celebrity uses the term in this way. And does not mean the guy shouldn't apologise. We are capable of social justice multitasking.
