For other people it is obviously different but for me FF 8 & 9 took at least 80 hours.

How long a game is versus how long you take to beat it are 2 very different. The only FInal fantasy to take me longer then 60hours was XII and thats because I spent a ton of time doing hunts.

Also those older games length were drawn out but mountains of text to read through and random encounters.
