Why does Sony still release smartphones in the world? Not sure if by now they realize it's a lost cause.

Since you're the vgc expert on smarphones can you please provide a comparison between sony phones and xbone consoles sold?

For comparison sake I think Xbox in Japan and Sony Smartphones in the US are both doing just as bad in terms of market share.

For Xbox numbers in Japan you just have to look at the latest LTD numbers from Media Create.

For Sony smartphones Neogaf member zomgbbqftw (who reportedly works as an financial analyst) says that Sony's market share for smartphones in the US is only 0.2%. - source

Sony managed a 2.1 percent share of the global smartphone market in 2013 according to market research firm Gartner, with the majority (more than half) of their smartphones being sold in Europe and Japan.

According to comScore Reports there are 173 million people in the U.S. that own smartphones.  - source  0.2% of that is around 350 thousand though that seems low.. but whatever the exact number is it will be low with the limited number of carriers Sony has had.

If anybody else has more sources of info on US market share or corrections feel free to post and see how it compares.
